Traditional Innerspring Support System
For years the traditional innerspring mattress has served as support for thousands of individuals and families. Used by literally hundreds of mattress manufacturers including Sealy, Serta, Simmons, Englander, King Koil and Heavens Mattress Factory. The traditional innerspring has become a staple of support.
The traditional innerspring coil has developed over the years offering a variety of thicknesses, turnings and number of total coils to the point new is not necessarily better, it seems to just become confusing. At Heavens Mattress Factory, the myriad of choices are available as well, but we have chosen to stick with two proven winners, traditional and extra firm.
In the factory we have a sample of our traditional innerspring coil that was produced some time back in the 1940’s or 1950’s. A customer purchased a new Heavens Mattress and asked that we dispose of her old mattress. The material was literally falling off exposing the horse hair padding. Curiosity got the best of us and we dismantled her mattress. The spring was straight and true after 60-70 years of use. The edges were supportive and remained flat. The spring looked brand new. Her used coil from 1950 was indistinguishable from a brand new unit except for an additional banding around the mattress frame.
All this to say that a traditional innerspring support system has been used for years and will provide years of use going forward. It is a classic that has been proven. We recommend the traditional innerspring support for individuals who want a good support system on a budget. The traditional innerspring support system is the least expensive option available from Heavens Mattress.
The draw back to the traditional innerspring support system occurs with couples of different weight. The lighter individual will tend to roll towards the heavier. The other draw back customers have shared is the innerspring has more ‘bounce’ or motion generated from their partners. If either of these situations would present a problem for you, we recommend choosing the Individually Pocketed Coil System rather than the Traditional Innerspring Support System.
